Our charming small town atmosphere is sure to keep you young at heart, but Southwest Michigan is also home to tons of activities for the young ones. With five world-class beach accesses within walking distance of Harbor Shores, it’s no wonder why Parents Magazine voted Harbor Shores "One of the Nation’s Top Ten Family Beaches”. Beyond the beaches, Benton Harbor and St. Joseph offer even more for the kids.
Silver Beach, located below the bluff in downtown St. Joseph, is home to the Silver Beach Amusement Park Museum and the Silver Beach Carousel. This historic venue was once the site of the Silver Beach Amusement Park (1892 – 1971) and now features a variety of attractions intended to recreate some of the magic of yesteryear. The Silver Beach Carousel allows kids of all ages to ride one of 48 unique, hand-carved menagerie figures. In addition, Silver Beach is now home to Michigan’s tallest kaleidoscope, the Curious Kids Museum, a splash pad and an outdoor climbing wall.
Concord Ridge Equestrian Center, located just south of St. Joseph is Southwest Michigan’s only state-of-the-art equine center. The facility, which opened in July 2011, sits on 140 acres and offers lessons and trainings for all disciplines at all levels. Concord Ridge is quickly on its way to becoming the premier equestrian center in the Midwest and one of the best in the country.
